After travelling for good part of the last decade, I have been fortunate to see Sunrises from beautiful locations – peaceful beaches, mountain tops, high rise buildings. But, this one was special – something different – as we were perched atop the Kolukkumalai Peak – the best munnar sunrise spot – a thick expanse of clouds covered the entire Tamil Nadu side and the Sun simmered from behind the almost triangular peak. The expanse of white clouds was complemented, as you look down, by slopes of green tea plantations – the colors were magical – almost reminiscent of the Indian tri-color with the orange of twilight perfecting it for us. Other tourists who accompanied us, were also blown by how perfectly beautiful the landscape was. And then came a guy towards us – he showed a photo of sunrise from the day before that looked even more beautiful – I couldn’t believe it! Such is the beauty of this place – the Sunrise you’re seeing could be the most beautiful one – the weather can do its magic on just about any day! Author – Sahil Shrivastava , Travel Blogger
